On September 30th, 2009, in Baghdad,  Iraqi Vice President Tariq Al-Hashimi received non-resident Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina to Iraq with residence in Amman Zlatko Dizdarevic.

During a long and cordial conversation, Vice President Al-Hashimi informed Ambassador Dizdarevic that Iraq is committed to enable strategic, long-term B&H involvement in the reconstruction processes in Iraq, and gave a whole range of concrete suggestions regarding initiation of this involvement. He stated that this commitment is logical having in mind friendly relations between the peoples of Iraq and B&H and the good reputation that workers from B&H have in Iraq for decades. Vice President Al-Hashimi also expressed his personal willingness to get involved in the process of economic cooperation between Iraq and B&H and promised he will provide all the necessary assistance in realizing the activities in that sense.

Vice President Al-Hashimi suggested organizing a visit of B&H businessmen to Iraq and presenting B&H’s economic potentials and capacities as well as companies that are capable of starting their activities in Iraq. He also expressed great interest in potentials and capacities of the military industry of B&H and in relation to that, suggested organizing a visit by an Iraqi high military delegation to our country which would, on that occasion, get acquainted with the capacities of B&H military industry.
