Chargé d`affaires a.i. of the Embassy of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Japan Fuad Dzidic was present at the ceremony of marking 64th anniversary of Hiroshima bombing

Chargé d`affaires a.i. of the Embassy of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Japan Fuad Dzidic waspresent at the ceremony of marking 64th anniversary of Hiroshima bombing held on 6th August 2009, in Peace Park in the presence of representatives of the embassies accredited in Japan, a large number of guests from abroad and the United Nations. The Prime Minister of Japan, Taro Aso, as well as Miguel d'Escato Brockman, the President of the UN General Assembly, addressed the gathering.

In his addressing to the world at large, Mayor of Hiroshima Tadatoshi Akiba read aloud traditional Peace Declaration in which he recalled the words of the US President Barack Obama from April this year in Prague, when he undoubtedly called for undertaking concrete steps towards a world without nuclear weapons.  

In a brief conversation with Chargé d`affaires Dzidic, Mayor of Hiroshima Tadatoshi expressed his desire for large number of mayors from Bosnia and Herzegovina to join the “Mayors for Peace” movement as soon as possible, which, up to present day, has reached 3.000 members from all over the world.

Mayor Tadatoshi emphasized that it is of great importance for numerous people around the world to understand what are the disastrous effects of the use of nuclear weapons.
