Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the Kingdom of Thailand Resident in Kuala Lumpur Ensar Eminovic Presents Credentials to Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn, Representative of the King of Thailand Bhumibol Adulyadej, and Meets with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand Kasit Piromya
On August 8th, 2009, Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the Kingdom of Thailand resident in Kuala Lumpur Ensar Eminovic presented credentials to Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn, Representative of the King of Thailand Bhumibol Adulyadej.
After presenting credentials, at the reception, Ambassador Eminovic conveyed regards of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina and reiterated BiH`s commitment to improving bilateral relations between the countries. Prince Vajiralongkorn emphasized that he had an opportunity to visit BiH, conveyed his regards to BiH`s Presidency and rendered commitment of Thailand to contribute improving bilateral relations between BiH and Thailand. It has been stated that relations are good and friendly but also that there is a lot of room for their improvement, primarily by means of economic, cultural and scientific cooperation. Prince Vajiralongkorn congratulated Ambassador Eminovic on his appointment, wished him success in work emphasizing that he will have complete cooperation of Thailand during his mandate.
Prior to this, on August 7th, 2009, Ambassador Eminovic met with Kasit Piromya, Minister of Foreign Affaires of Thailand. During the meeting, Ambassador Eminovic conveyed greetings of Sven Alkalaj, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, to Minister Piromya and informed him about the current political situation in BiH. He particularly emphasized opportunities that are opened to BiH after signing the Stabilization and Association Agreement with the EU. With regard to that, he pointed out existence of a huge potential for Thailand’s companies that are interested in investments and business cooperation with BiH, especially taking into account other agreements BiH signed with the countries in the region, such as CEFTA.
Minister Piromya emphasized that political relations between BiH and Thailand are good as well as that Thailand was among the first countries in the world that recognized BiH. Aiming at enhancing economic relations, he pointed out the necessity for signing the Agreement on Investment Protection and Promotion and Agreement on Avoiding Double Taxation between the two countries. Minister Piromya rendered the interest of Thailand for cooperation with BiH in the area of halal industry and expressed interest in visiting BiH with businessmen from halal industry. He also proposed establishing educational and cultural cooperation between the countries.
