Charge d’Affaires a.i. of the Embassy of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Japan Fuad Dzidic Opens a Documentary Photography Exhibition
On August 10th, 2009, in front of numerous guests, Charge d’Affaires a.i. of the Embassy of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Japan Fuad Dzidic opened a documentary photography exhibition entitled “Project of Planting Japanese Cherries in BiH”, laid out in Saga City Center. Under the sponsorship of the JICA and BiH Embassy, the exhibition showed 10 years of successful and fruitful cooperation between the Japanese non-governmental organization IPIL – IPIL NO KAI and great number of BiH municipalities on the project of planting the most renowned Japanese symbol of peace and cooperation between peoples and nations.
After opening the exhibition, Charge d’Affaires a.i. Dzidic held a lecture about BiH, and video clip “Enjoy Life in Bosnia” was also screened. Short messages and stories about the few most significant citizens of BiH origin who made an indelible impression upon the Japanese public life, such as Ivica Osim and Jadranka Stojakovic, were also broadcasted.
This exhibition is an example of successful cooperation between BiH and Japan and presents a part of the overall activities by which cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, on the anniversary of their citizens’ suffering, send a traditional declaration of peace to the world, which, this year, was strongly inspired by President Obama’s historic words about creating a prosperous world without nuclear weapons.
The documentary photography exhibition in Saga will be opened from August 10th to August 22nd, 2009 and after that it will be laid out in Tokyo.
