Ambassador of B&H in Prague Ivan Orlic Receives Representatives of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic

On September 11th, 2009, Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina to Prague Ivan Orlic received representatives of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic who informed him about the way in which the Czech Republic, as a partner country, will present itself at ZEPS.

Apart from the Czech Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Czech Chamber of Industry and Trade, 17 companies from environment, energy, solar energy and tourism sectors will present themselves along with the two specialized state export agencies “Czech Invest” and “Czech Trade”.

The participation of the Czech companies, the so called National Presentation of Sponsors, is supported by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic. During the fair, a whole range of accompanying activities will be carried out, such as workshops and professional seminars aimed at informing Czech and B&H businessmen about possibilities for further enhancing economic cooperation between the two exceptionally friendly countries.

The decision of the Czech side to provide state assistance to Czech companies participating at ZEPS is the result of efforts made by the Embassy of B&H in Prague and the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Sarajevo, and it was brought about despite the extremely fierce competition between different fairs in the world in which Czech businessmen take part.

The annual foreign trade exchange between the two countries is about 174 million KM and B&H's import/export ratio for the first six months of this year has seen a significaant rise amounting to 4%, which places the Czech Republic at number 5 among B&H's top foreign trade partners in terms of the import/export ratio.
