Consul General of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Chicago Eldin Kajevic Attends the Third Assembly of the Bosnian- Herzegovinian American Academy of Arts and Sciences (BHAAAS) in Louisville
On November 7th, 2009, Consul General of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Chicago Eldin Kajevic attended the Third Assembly of the Bosnian-Herzegovinian American Academy of Arts and Sciences (BHAAAS) which was held in the Muhammad Ali Center in Louisville.
In his address, Consul General Kajevic congratulated Academy members on their impressive results in the past three years and proposed the initiation of a more active cooperation between the Academy and the Consulate General in Chicago in terms of promoting educational and scientific cooperation between the USA and B&H.
Dr. Eldin Karaikovic, former Academy President, presented results for the previous 12 months adding that the Academy now has 99 members. Writer Aleksandar Hemon was elected as the new Academy President. In his plans for next year, new president underlined the need to include more young intellectuals of B&H origin who completed their education in the USA.
The special guest of the Assembly, Professor James L. Wittliff, held a lecture about the need for a more active engagement of the Academy in the field of international student exchange. He also invited Academy members to establish a fund for scholarships to B&H students and promised his own active involvement in this project.
