Embassy of Bosnia and Herzegovina to the Republic of Slovenia Organizes a Reception on the Occasion of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Election to Non-Permanent Membership of the United Nations Security Council
On November 12th, 2009, the Embassy of Bosnia and Herzegovina to the Republic of Slovenia organized a reception in Hotel “Slon” in Ljubljana to mark the election of Bosnia and Herzegovina as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council.
Ambassador of BiH to the Republic of Slovenia Zdravko Begovic welcomed those in attendance and emphasized in his address that the election to non-permanent membership of the United Nations Security Council represents Bosnia and Herzegovina’s greatest foreign policy achievement since it gained independence. He thanked all of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s friends for their support during our candidature and voting in the United Nations.
Ambassador Begovic also emphasized the excellent bilateral relations between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Slovenia. He thanked the Republic of Slovenia for the support it has extended to Bosnia and Herzegovina on its path to Euro-Atlantic integration, particularly underlining that Slovenia’s support in the visa liberalization process is very important to the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
To conclude his address, Ambassador Begovic stated that the diaspora is very important when it comes to relations between the two countries and invited Bosnia and Herzegovina’s diaspora to continue to build bridges of friendship and understanding between our two countries.
Over two hundred guests attended the reception, including a great number of Slovenian officials and members of the diplomatic corps, representatives of religious communities, representatives of associations and clubs of BiH citizens in the Republic of Slovenia, and distinguished members of political, business, scientific, cultural, and sports circles in Slovenia and BiH. |
