During a cordial conversation, Ambassador Zovko informed Queen Sofia about the progress B&H has made during the past years and our aspirations towards Euro-Atlantic integration. Ambassador Zovko stated that humanitarian and cultural projects which the Kingdom of Spain carried out in our country as well as the continued presence of the Spanish military troops in B&H are good reasons for organizing a visit by the Spanish Royal Family to our country.

Queen Sofia, who has been acquainted with B&H since her visit to Sarajevo in the early ‘80s, spoke favorably about the need to present Bosnia and Herzegovina, as a fusion of different cultures and religions, to the Spanish public through cultural projects which would contribute to improving the image of B&H in Spain.

Queen Sofia commended B&H’s progress on its path to Euro-Atlantic integration and its contribution to strengthening regional cooperation, expressing the hope that B&H will become a member of the EU family in the near future.
