ACCREDITATION OF FOREIGN JOURNALISTS

Ministry of Foreign Affairs does not register offices/representations of foreign media.  Depending on representations` seat, registration of a legal entity is done by competent local authorities. PR Office of the Ministry issues accreditation cards for employees of the foreign reporter bureaus accredited in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

For issuance of the accreditation card, it is necessary to present a written request. The request is submitted by the media editorship which establishes reporter bureaus, and it must contain name, surname, date and place of birth, nationality, number of the identification card (passport for foreigners, ID for BIH nationals) of the person who submits the requests.
Accreditation card shall be issued only in person. Along with the request one has to submit the following:

• a copy of ID
• a photograph size 4x3 cm
• filled out application for issuance of accreditation (Form.pdf).

The card is issued for the period of one year, after which it is possible to renew the validation period by submitting a request for renewal of the validation period of the card.

Accreditation card for the representatives of foreign media will serve solely as an identification document during execution of duties in regard to reporting from Bosnia and Herzegovina. All holders of accreditation card are obliged to observe the code of conduct prescribed by the organizer of the event they want to report about, and it does not include any privileges. By issuance of an accreditation card, the head of reporter bureau will be included in the list of media to which the Ministry of Foreign Affairs provides its statements, but we emphasize that they are not automatically included in any similar lists of other institutions.
