Consul General of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Chicago Eldin Kajevic Speaks in St. Louis about Cooperation between B&H, the U.S. State of Missouri and the Indian State of Madhya Pradesh
On December 1st, 2009, Consul General of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Chicago Eldin Kajevic visited St. Louis. At the initiative of the Freeborn Development Group (FDG), Consul General Kajevic met with FDG representative John Freeborn, Dr. Ibrahim Vajzovic and Dr. Deepak Kant Vyas, Chairman of the Redberri Global Corporation in St. Louis and Economic Advisor of the Government of Madhya Pradesh.
On this occasion, Consul General Kajevic presented investment possibilities of B&H to his interlocutors, while Dr. Vyas presented a vision of possible cooperation between B&H and the State of Madhya Pradesh as well as the State of Missouri, in which he lives.
Dr. Vyas stated that he is very well-acquainted with the economic potentials of B&H and that, after conducting detailed examination of investment potentials of our country, he concluded that food processing sector and natural resources of B&H are fields of interest for the State of Madhya Pradesh. He also expressed interest of Madhya Pradesh to invest in education sector in B&H, with the aim of educating B&H personnel for the industries and technologies which are in high demand in B&H and all around Europe as well.
The officials informed Consul General Kajevic that they intend to commence official talks with the representatives of the State of Missouri about the opening of the first international “incubator”, or economic development center in St. Louis. The aim of this project, which would be financed by private capital and support grants from the State of Missouri, is to form a center that would be at disposal of the small and mid-sized companies which want to establish a more active presence in the USA market. Bearing in mind number of B&H citizens in St. Louis and the presence of qualified personnel of B&H origin, it has been suggested that, during the initial stage, the center be focused on companies from B&H. The center would provide counseling for transport, sale and distribution of products as well as possibility of assembling individual components into final products and training for employees of export-oriented B&H companies. This would result in significant savings in the export-oriented B&H companies and improve their opportunities to present their products to the wider USA market. |
