Meeting of Defense Industry Representatives Held in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina 

On December 21st, 2009, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina organized a meeting for representatives of defense industry corporations from various parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina. 

During the meeting, Murat Muhamed Ramadanovic, Head of the Economic Diplomacy Division of the MFA of BiH, stated that the Economic Diplomacy Division is open to cooperation with companies in BiH and that it functions as a service that facilitates them to offer their products on the global market. He announced that, at the initiative of the Government of Iraq and in cooperation with the Embassy of BiH in Kuwait which covers this country non-residentially, an interest in establishing commercial cooperation between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Iraq in the defense sector has been defined. Pursuant to a decision by the BiH Presidency, all defense industry corporations need to reach an agreement on joint operations in the Iraqi market.    

Due to the fact that Bosnia and Herzegovina has extensive experience in the production and maintenance of military equipment, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of BiH, in cooperation with other relevant BiH institutions, intends to organize a visit by a high-level Iraqi military delegation to defense industry facilities in Bosnia and Herzegovina in the first half of 2010. In the course of the meeting, it was also agreed that defense corporations interested in the Iraqi market would prepare a catalogue with information about their products and submit it to the Economic Diplomacy Division, so that the MFA of BiH could compile a joint catalogue of all their offers.
