Press Conference Held by Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina Sven Alkalaj and Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland David Miliband      

Following their meeting on November 6th, 2009, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina Sven Alkalaj and Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland David Miliband held press conferencein the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of B&H

Minister Alkalaj expressed satisfaction with Mr. Miliband’s visit and thanked him for congratulating our country on its election as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council. Even though Great Britain is not a part of the “Schengen”, Minister Alkalaj expressed the hope that B&H citizens will be able to travel without visas to this country too. He added that bilateral relations between the two countries are excellent, but that there is still room for their improvement at the economic level.

Secretary of State Miliband emphasized that his country is committed to the European path of Bosnia and Herzegovina and expressed the hope that Great Britain, which is permanent member of the UN Security Council, will cooperate successfully with B&H. “We always support NATO open door policy for all the countries that fulfill the conditions”, Miliband stated and added that the membership of this global military organization depends on the local leaders.
