Press Conference Held by Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina Sven Alkalaj and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Vuk Jeremic
Following their meeting on October 22nd, 2009, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina Sven Alkalaj and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Vuk Jeremic held a press conference in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of B&H.
In his statement to the press, Minister Alkalaj expressed his satisfaction with the visit by Minister Jeremic to our country, underlining that the two countries have stable and good-neighborly relations at the bilateral as well as multilateral level, but that there is still room to intensify economic relations, particularly in the field of energy. He also thanked Minister Jeremic for the support Serbia has extended to Bosnia and Herzegovina’s election as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council for the 2010-2011 term.
Minister Jeremic stated that he is pleased to visit our country and expressed a wish to intensify contacts at the highest level which would contribute to resolving some of the open issues that burden bilateral relations between B&H and Serbia to a certain extent, such as property rights relations and border issues. Both Ministers assessed that fostering good-neighborly relations and resolving open issues represent a contribution to peace and stability in the region. On this occasion, Minister Jeremic pointed out that Serbia will continue with its policy of supporting B&H on its Euro-Atlantic road, as well as respecting sovereignty and territorial integrity of our country.
After their statements, the Ministers answered questions from the press. |
